Dear Reader,

Thank you for sticking with my little blog through the lulls in posting. The end of 2017 (actually, the last half) was a whirlwind and hasn’t slowed down much. With a cross-country move, a multi-week trip to Africa and England, and the creation of the massive work deliverable that came out of the overseas trip, I haven’t had time to do much but acclimate the dog to city living, make the bed, and snap the occasional photo of my new (again) surrounds.

Which is the point of this post. Since moving in, just before Christmas, I’ve tried to take a photo of the National Cathedral from my east facing windows as often as I remember. My goal is to take one each day so that in a year, I will have 365 images showing this beauty in all her glory through the changing seasons. Incidentally, the scaffold is due to repair work being done following the 2011 earthquake. Once I get to the exhibit, I’ll have more information to share with you. The earthquake also accounts for the cracks in my apartment – who knew?

Blogs are typically visual, so let me share what I have so far. Please note, these are mostly crappy cell phone photos so don’t critique image quality, please. 🙂

Isn’t it great how the view changes every day? This is one of the reasons I wanted to move back to D.C. and I thank my lucky stars every day, this is where I landed. The National Cathedral has been one of my favorite places in the world for almost 30 years, the architecture, the gardens, the grandeur – I love it all.

This post wouldn’t be complete without a photo of the Cathedral AND my dog. This is the best I could do while keeping him on the leash. Neither is shown off to their best advantage, but I hope you enjoy it.
