Thanksgiving is only 93 days away. 93 DAYS!!!! Where did 2017 go? I feel like we are caught in a cosmic hourglass that is set on fast forward. Days feels like minutes, weeks feel like days, and months – well, you get the picture. Am I the only person that feels like this? Earlier this year, I set a goal to write a post here 5 days a week. With the exception of a planned week away and a technical glitch, I’ve hit that goal. That is, until yesterday. Too much to do and short days that pass at the speed of light. Boo. 😶
No matter, let me get to my point and remind you that if you have to travel for the holidays now is a good time to start looking for reasonable airfare. When I say reasonable, I mean under $1000 (US) and cattle coach class. Personally, I add non-stop to the ‘reasonable’ tick list. For your enjoyment, I spent some time on one of my favorite travel sites last night, airfarewatchdog.com, and found some great fares. I’ve written about this site before and can’t say enough good things. If you need a specific route, create an account (free and you don’t get SPAMmed) and set up a route-specific alert. You are guaranteed to find Some pretty sweet deals. For example:
With a departure date of Wednesday Nov 22 and a return date of Monday Nov 27, I found:
- PHX to DCA 😁 as low as $457 non-stop on American
- LAX to EWR for $322 non-stop on United
- ORD to DFW for $113 non-stop on American
- SEA to ATL for $537 non-stop on Alaska
Or, if you want to Treat Yo’Self and avoid family altogether maybe the islands are more your speed. I found PHX to STT (St Thomas, USVI) for $823 with one stop in Miami. No family chaos, no tryptophan hangover, no football, and no dishes. Add another layer to paradise, doesn’t it?
What do you think? Are you ready to book your 2017 holiday travel? Let me know in the comments and, as always, thanks for stopping by!
