For some people traveling for business can be a trial, but knowing there is a consistent level of service from a specific “corporate approved” hotel chain takes a lot of the anxiety away, especially if you visit the same location a lot.
The Marriott is one such chain and the SpringHill Suites Downtown San Antonio delivers on the consistency. While it is not luxurious or swanky, it has a great location and clean rooms that are improved with the in-room fridge and microwave. Even better, every visit after the first the staff recognized me and greeted me by name. Now, that’s impressive….or I am such a pain-in-the-ass that I’m easy to recall. Either way, it made me happy to be there.
Would I Stay Here Again? Yes, for business, absolutely.
High Points: Location is an easy walk to the Alamo and the Riverwalk. Excellent staff! From the front desk to the valet, everyone is friendly and ready to help. Onsite fitness center (ish).
Low Points: The only low was being sent to a grocery store 25 minutes away in a shady neighborhood, when there are 2 HEB stores closer. I think the was isolated to the person that sent me, but it was painful enough to call out. Don’t let them see you to the Wal-Mart on Evers!
