Product Review – Vapur Eclipse Water Bottle

Drinking water is good for you. All conventional wisdom tells us that you need water for proper digestion, good skin, and keep your brain functioning as it should. When you travel, you need it even more! On the road, it can be a challenge to stay hydrated, especially if you are rushing to catch a plane, out seeing the sites, and focused on getting the most from your trip. Enter the water bottle, ubiquitous accessory seen in the hands of travelers round the world.

Since it seems every traveler carries a water bottle, it stands to reason there are all types of bottles. Between metal and plastic I favor a resusable plastic bottle and when it folds up to nothing, is easy to clean, and doesn’t give the water a weird taste I am sold. I started out with a Platypus bottle and it was great, despite looking like an IV bag (which lead to many strange looks and questions every time I flew). After about 18 months, it gave up the ghost and all it’s contents about 15000 feet above my home airport. Once my leather tote bag and all its contents dried out, I started the hunt for a replacement.

After some searching, I came across the Vapur line and settled on the Eclipse. I bought it in Night Blue for a look that was anything but IV-ish. Touted as dishwasher-safe and BPA-free, this bottle has a screw off cap that features a caribiner-eque clip which works to secure the bottle to your bag strap and helps to keep it rolled tightly when empty.

Here is what I like about the bottle:

  • Color – the matte dark blue is different and looks great
  • Built-in clip
  • Wide mouth opening – this makes it easy to fill and clean
  • Rubber seals of the cap
  • Price – at about $12 I feel it’s a reasonable price for something I use so often

What I don’t like:

  • Nothing – so far, so good!

Final verdict:
I rate this as a great buy. Get one today don’t leave home without it!

I haven’t tried to run this through the dishwasher. Instead, I handwash it to make it last as long as possible. As someone who drinks a LOT of water, I appreciate how well this bottle has stood up to heavy use, both at home and on the road.
